Record Breaking and Hot!
Wow! Pride Party ’09 had 240 people attend. That is 100 more than last year’s party. Brian, Jay and I have been working hard to break 200 and we were so excited to go from 170 to 240! The party was really over the top. It was the perfect end to a great local pride day. Did you make it to pride and take in the entertainment at the Red Star Stage? We sure hope so. We had a blast at our booth during the day. Thanks to all of you who stopped by to show some love.
The July 18th party kicked in as soon as the doors opened at 9pm. We were over 100 people in about 40 minutes! Seattle’s DJ Matt Stands kept the floor packed all night. A highlight for me was when I invited everyone to join me on the dance floor as a birthday wish. It was crazy how many of you came out to shake it with me. Oh and I had no idea how busy it was downstairs until I saw some of the pictures you posted on-line. Please post some on our new Facebook page. I hope you had a chance to check out our new lounge area in the corner. I’ll admit I was hanging out in there most of the night but many of you stopped in to say hi and wish me well. I was surprised by the mondo pomegranate martini that Jay & Brian brought me plus the three cakes we all shared. Oh, We’ll make the lounge available to reserve for special occasions.
We put a ton of hard work into the Pride Party to make sure you had an awesome time and we exceeded your expectations. Jay and Brian did the bulk of it as I was the co-chair of the Kitsap Pride this year. That being said we are going to take the First Friday in August off. We may try to organize some alternate social activities. The best way to stay in touch is to sign up for text messages. We can use them to announce an impromptu gathering of local gays. Just send redstarparty in a text message to 69302. There are no extra charges – just your normal message costs. So, take a minute to sign up. You’ll be glad you did.
