Summer of Love

It may not be summer but it feels like it and we’re feeling the love.  Our May party was our biggest ever.  I feel like I’m repeating myself.  Thanks so much to everyone who keeps supporting this event.  May’s party was great and DJ Matt Stands kept the dance floor busy all night.  We had lots of new faces and an awesome mix of people.  It is really rewarding to connect local gays with one another and even attract some from Seattle, Tacoma and Port Townsend.  Our Facebook and MySpace pages are growing all the time and more people are signing up for our VIP Text Messages.  Just text redstarparty to 69302.  Only your normal charges apply.

We’re sharing the love too.  Just this week we presented Kitsap Pride with $1,000.00 towards the stage at Kitsap Pride on Saturday, July 18, 2009.  The event starts at noon and wraps up at 5pm to give everyone time to go home and get ready for the big Red Star Pride Party later that night.  We are expecting to have over 200 people turning out.  We are hoping to unveil some special surprises that night.

Come out for a hot night on Friday, June 5th.  Doors open at 9pm.  This event is 21 and over.  Cover is $5 at the door.  Drinks are really reasonably priced.  Susan will be back again behind the bar.  She did a great job keeping the lines short and moving.  The bar is cash only.  There is a typical bar ATM downstairs and a Chase ATM located on the same block.

Enter the Eagles upstairs at 205 6th street.  If you drive, there is plenty of parking available in the area.  Most of it is free and the word on the street is that the nearby pay-lots are not checked that late.  The lot next to the Eagles on Washington is reserved for their members – the good people who allow us to turn their hall in to a big gay bar.  Tie up at the new Bremerton Marina if you come by boat.

Our events are usually held on the First Friday of each month which coincides with the Downtown Bremerton Art Walk.  Come on down and check out the galleries all just a short walk from the party.  There are some great places to catch a bite to eat.  The Eagles have a great steak dinner on our nights so come early and eat downstairs.

Make it a weekend and get a room at the Hampton Inn & Suites. It is located next to the ferry terminal on the waterfront only blocks from the party.  They support Red Star by giving us great deals to put up our out of town disc jockeys.

Don’t forget to check out Seattle Gay Scene for – an awesome one-stop source for area nightlife.
